A Minimal Machine Thesis of the Functional Present
Conceptual hypothesis; not empirical evidence. Not implemented; no test was run. This bilingual technical note distinguishes the constitutive present state of a machine — the state that currently obtains and carries execution — from represented past and future states, which are present only as data: the past as a provenance-bound trace, the future as a specified horizon. The distinction is one of role, not of substance: a represented state is an object of measurement, the constitutive state is its condition. On that basis the note states a testable claim. System-level prioritization, temporal continuity and adaptive energy management cannot be achieved at equivalent quality if the architecture lacks (1) a persistent, body-bound deictic reference origin, (2) energetic weighting, or (3) a shared active focus. The claim concerns the architectural necessity of these three components, not the emergence of a present. Falsifiability is specified through preregistered endpoints (prioritization error rate between urgent and non-urgent tasks, continuity breaks after state transitions, energy cost for a fixed task set), one-at-a-time component ablation at equal resources, and a component-free null model. Where provenance binding, missingness handling or protocol integrity cannot be evaluated, the verdict is inconclusive. Claim ceiling: no claim of consciousness, a subjective now, or felt pain, fear or other emotion. Functional terms carry an obligatory analogue marker. Even complete selective functional loss would support only architectural necessity, never phenomenal experience. Positioning: the term deictic origin derives from Bühler (Sprachtheorie, 1934), where it denotes the zero point of linguistic deixis rather than an architecture. Machine motivation derived from a vulnerable bodily state is the proposal of Man and Damasio (Nature Machine Intelligence 1, 446–452, 2019), implemented by Man, Damasio and Neven (arXiv:2205.08645). The contribution here is not the proposal of machine self-interest but the formal separation of the constitutive present state from represented past and future states. Erre épül a tesztelhető állítás. A funkcionális fogalmak analóg megjelölése kötelező. Még a teljes szelektív funkcióvesztés is kizárólag architekturális szükségességet támaszthat alá, fenomenális átélést soha. Elhelyezés: a deiktikus origó terminusa Bühlertől származik (Sprachtheorie, 1934), ahol nyelvi deixis nullpontját jelöli, nem architektúrát. A sérülékeny testi állapotból levezetett gépi motiváció Man és Damasio javaslata (Nature Machine Intelligence 1, 446–452, 2019), implementációja Man, Damasio és Neven munkája (arXiv:2205.08645). E jegyzet hozzájárulása nem a gépi önérdek felvetése, hanem a konstitutív jelenállapot formális elkülönítése a reprezentált múlt- és jövőállapotoktól. Angol és magyar PDF-változat egyaránt mellékelve. A műszaki jegyzet nem esett át szakmai lektoráláson.
