The Missing Model: A Grand Unified Data Theory (GUDT) and the Industrialization of Software Technology

AbstractModern software industry is built upon a fundamental architectural flaw: "Missing Model." While Model-View-Controller (MVC) framework provides robust standard for View and Control, the "(Data) Model" remains undefined. Because the industry has pursued "infinite semantics" rather than structural constants, standardized Software Development Kit (SDK) for the data model has remained an illusion. While Database Management Systems (DBMS) already manage structured data tables effectively, GUDT uniquely addresses the challenges of seemingly chaotic unstructured data, providing a deterministic framework for its management and seamless integration with existing DBMS architectures. This structural vacuum has resulted in estimated $10 trillion annual productivity drain. This global "fragmentation tax" is caused by pointer volatility and the requisite "Manual Bridge"—intensive human labor required to resolve data silos and manage an endless array of incompatible file formats. While current industry efforts focus on 'Data Integration' via high-level semantic mapping, they fail to address the underlying substrate. GUDT provides the first deterministic 3D-coordinate addressing model to resolve the industry’s fundamental 'Missing Model' crisis. This paper proposes GUDT and its implementation, Sovereign Software Development Kit (SSDK). By replacing semantic-heavy logic with 3D coordinate substrate, SSDK establishes Sovereign Data Object (SDO), Unified Script (in .sdo file format, 书同文), and RAM-resident Data Object Oriented Repository System (DOORS) acting as deterministic memory substrate. Validity of this theory is supported by four US patents—covering DOORS, Data Integration, and File Downward Compatibility—and was empirically verified through development of EIOffice. Cumulated EIOffice enhancements, achieved 90% reduction in user-data RAM consumption and 10-fold increase in execution speed during ten-year development, proves that GUDT performance will not be barrier to industrialization of software. GUDT provides essential foundation for transition from sequential logic to deterministic arithmetic, enabling upcoming AI-generated software and a sovereign digital economy. Abstract
