Integrating green organizational capabilities and AI readiness for sustainable tourism performance: The mediating role of green innovative work behavior

This study investigates how green human resource management, big data analytics capability, and environmental knowledge management contribute to sustainable tourism performance through green innovative work behavior. Drawing on the Dynamic Capabilities View and the Natural Resource-Based View, data were collected from 457 employees working in tourism organizations and analyzed using PLS-SEM. The findings reveal that green human resource management, big data analytics capability, and environmental knowledge management positively influence green innovative work behavior, which, in turn, significantly enhances sustainable tourism performance. Green innovative work behavior also mediates the relationships between the three organizational capabilities and sustainable tourism performance. Furthermore, AI readiness strengthens the positive effect of green innovative work behavior on sustainable tourism performance. The study highlights the importance of integrating human resource, analytical, knowledge-based, and technological capabilities to foster environmental innovation and achieve superior sustainability outcomes in tourism organizations.
