This study examines how Facebook’s Community Standards act as a “gatekeeper” in ways that shape the editorial practices of Palestinian news organizations. It investigates how Facebook’s policies and algorithms influence their coverage of Palestine and the Israeli occupation. Findings reveal that these organizations navigate platform censorship by altering content and turning to platforms like Telegram to avoid restrictions, highlighting the tension between freedom of speech and maintaining visibility under digital constraints.
