Need Achievement, Extraversion and Neuroticism between Employees of Central and State Government Pankaj Kumar Dr. Upendra Bhakta The present study intended to compare central and state government employees in terms of need for achievement, extraversion and neuroticism. It was hypothesized that central and state government employees will differ significantly in terms of need for achievement, extraversion and neuroticism. For the purpose, 400 employees equally belonging to central and state government were selected to constitute the sample using purposive sampling. The respondents of two groups were administered Need Achievement Scale, Extroversion and Neuroticism Scale to measure the variables. Besides these, a PDS was used to seek the background information about the respondents. The obtained data were analysed and treated using t-ratio. The hypotheses were retained. It was found that central government employees excelled over state government employees on need for achievement and extraversion. However, state government employees excelled over central government employees on neuroticism measure. Thus, it was concluded that need for achievement, extraversion and neuroticism all traits are influenced by central and state government employment
