Risk-based approach to ensuring the economic security of developers: differentiation by building model and business scale

The article examines the application of a risk-based approach in mass housing construction with an emphasis on the author's classification by type of building and business scale. The economic security systems of construction companies at three levels - large, medium and small businesses — are analyzed using the example of PJSC LSR Group, JSC City-XXI Century, LLC VTS-Engineering, LLC AnapaInvestStroy and PJSC PIK-specialized developer. The differentiation of vertical and horizontal building models as independent risk configurations, revealing fundamentally different threats in the financial, regulatory and operational spheres, is introduced and justified. A stable correlation has been revealed between the scale of the business and the maturity of the economic security management system. The regional features of the risk profiles of developers in the context of the spatial heterogeneity of the Russian construction market have been established. Differentiated recommendations for improving risk management for each of the identified categories of developers are proposed.
