I Said NO and Why the Slamming of the Door Brings Me Back to My Darkness.
“I said NO, and Why the Slamming of the Door Brings me Back to my Darkness” is a breathable installation about rape and its relationship to PTSD. This project asks the audience to view the act of sexual assault away from our everyday gaze and to understand this ludicrous act through all senses. Instead of seeing and hearing, an audience member will hear the stories of these strong survivors through all senses. The goal of this project will hopefully leave the audience saying, “I never want that to happen to anyone else- what do we do now?” A yearlong process of interviews and curating of statistics and factual evidence lead to the creation of a 16-page Zine and a four-room installation that makes up this Senior Project.
