Pediatric Growth Charts in Distinct Countries
Due to growth disorders that can develop during early childhood, it is essential for pediatricians and parents to monitor their growth. It is done by gathering information such as height, weight, and head circumference and comparing that to measurements of children of the same age and sex. This data is then placed onto a graph called a growth chart (GC). However, it is important to note that people of particular ethnicities around the globe are genetically different, which in turn requires countries to have growth charts that accommodate their regional growth rates. This paper will focus on the comparison of growth charts between different countries, such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Korea, etc. Additionally, a program that allows users to visualize the differences between growth charts of those countries is being developed.
