Welcome To
This is an exploration showing the unique typography that surrounds us; it is everywhere we go, on every street, inside every building. Most people don’t stop to look. We are used to being surrounded by type, but what we fail to notice are the peeling edges of vinyl letters, the signs that are so distorted you can barely read what they say. This book brings forward what we miss daily, the slightly off hand-painted signs, the broken typography, the beautiful way type deteriorates over time in countless ways. The illustrations that complement various photographs pull the type out of context, forcing you to look at it from a different perspective; viewing just the new shapes and letterforms left behind from distortion and deterioration.
