ACL: A Case Study

Focusing on the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction in three patients: surgical technique choices, pre-operative and post-operative rehabilitation processes were evaluated. A comparison of three individual progressions through a series of qualifications seen fit by the therapists, the surgeon, plus research conducted on average healthy ACLs was conducted in attempts to define the most effective protocol for returning athletes to performance level strengths. Observations regarding processes for what yields efficiency in overall lower extremity physiology, specifically concentrated on knee functions, strength, speed to recovery, and pain tolerance. This survey should contribute to existing knowledge involving alternative surgical approaches, as to which may be more or less beneficial for an athlete with an anterior cruciate ligament injury. It should also narrow down and evaluate crucial choices by the athlete’s therapist team with the goal of efficient athletic performances.
