Contemporary US Immigration Literature

My project looks at the spotlight Mexican immigrants are under and the struggle these immigrants face when trying to assimilate in a new home. The transition to a new home is difficult to take on because the figure of whiteness taps into the world of immigrants and because of it, the reality of immigrants is modified by the words and actions of white Americas. The subject matter of my project mirrors the situation our country is in by seeing who we have in office today and the issues he sees in having Mexicans come over to the United States.
