The First Flotation Technology Transfer to Korea: Treatment of Potable Water From Seoul by Flotation, Filtration and Adsorption

Krofta, Milos and Wang, Lawrence K. (1985; digitized 2026). The First Flotation Technology Transfer to Korea: Treatment of Potable Water From Seoul by Flotation, Filtration and Adsorption, Environmental Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (E-STEM), 2026(8A), Lenox Institute Press, Massachusetts, USA; 30 pages. DOI: 10.17613/7rh4g-t6073; DOI: 10.17613/xan07-m7p83 ; ..... ABSTRACT: This is a historical document documenting the flotation technology transfer from the USA to Korea in 1985. Under the co-sponsorship of Krofta Engineering Corporation and a Korea professional association, the Seoul raw water was treated by the Lenox Institute, USA, using dissolved air flotation (DAF), sand filtration and carbon adsorption for simulation of the Lenox Water Treatment Plant (Krofta Sandfloat) in Lenox, Massachusetts, USA. The demonstration testing was successful. The treated water met the US drinking water standards using DAF and filtration. Adsorption is an optional advanced process. Keywords: Historical Document, Seoul, Korea, Potable Water Treatment, Drinking Water Standards, Dissolved Air Flotation, Filtration, Adsorption, Lenox Water Treatment Plant, Technology Transfer. Krofta Engineering Corporation, Lenox Institute.
