Language, Trust, and the Architecture of Deception: A Framing Note for the Reputation Arbitrage Series

Language shapes mind, machines, and institutions. That single claim is the thesis running underneath the three-part Reputation Arbitrage series, though none of the three papers states it in these terms. Each paper was written to stand on its own, addressed to a different literature and a different audience, cognitive and behavioural science in Part I, organisational and institutional theory in Part II, infrastructure and platform studies in Part III. Read separately, they are three treatments of adjacent problems. Read together, they are one argument about how borrowed credibility becomes action, traced through three levels at which that conversion happens: the individual mind, the institution, and the machine. This note exists to make that argument explicit before the three papers that follow. It adds no new evidence or claims of its own; it states the connective thesis that organises Parts I, II, and III as a series rather than as three unrelated articles, and it is intended to be read first as a preface that orients a reader before they encounter the individual papers, each of which remains a complete, self-contained contribution to its own literature.
