Infection Control and Patient Safety Systems in a Hospital Emergency Department
This report describes the infection-control, waste segregation, monitoring and patientsafety practices observed in the emergency department of Maryam Memorial Hospital, a secondary-care hospital in Rawalpindi, Punjab, during a structured observership of four sessions across four weeks. Observations were recorded as structured field notes and analysed thematically, supported by a facility-readiness checklist completed on a final visit.
