BIOMINIMALISM: A Conceptual Framework for Systemic Noise Reduction and Homeostatic Restoration via Psychoneuroendocrinoimmunology (PNEI)

This framework introduces BioMinimalism, a subtractive therapeutic paradigm designed to reduce signaling clutter within the psychoneuroendocrinoimmunology (PNEI) network. Modern anthropogenic environments subject the human organism to intense systemic allostatic noise, driven by metabolic overload, circadian misalignment, and chronic neuro-autonomic strain. If unmitigated, this persistent hyper-stimulation compounds the allostatic load, constraining the organism’s adaptive plasticity. Unlike conventional biomedical models that prioritize exogenous interventions, BioMinimalism operationalizes the strategic removal of deleterious inputs to facilitate biological unloading. Anchored by a tripartite regulatory infrastructure, the BioMinimalist Triad of Liberation (comprising metabolic-circadian, neuro-autonomic, and neurocognitive regulation), the model is proposed to support homeostatic equilibrium by reducing biological overhead rather than introducing new biochemical variables. To establish empirical validity, the framework adopts a phased experimental strategy: this initial study establishes the foundational biological and PNEI baseline (Phase 1), laying the necessary biomolecular groundwork for subsequent multi-dimensional evaluations incorporating objective digital usage analytics and cognitive parameters (Phase 2). Mechanistically, we posit that systematic input reduction may attenuate the constitutive activation of the nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) transcription factor, quenching self-sustaining loops of low-grade systemic inflammation. This process liberates critical mitochondrial resources and optimizes adenosine triphosphate (ATP) kinetics. By shifting cellular energy allocation away from chronic defensive states, the organism reclaims the bioenergetic surplus necessary for systemic self-regulation and tissue repair. Ultimately, this framework shifts clinical focus from resource consumption toward the reclamation of the biological system’s inherent architectural balance. Keywords: BioMinimalism, PNEI network, subtractive therapeutics, allostatic load, mitochondrial bioenergetics, NF-κB, systemic homeostasis.
