Radiocatalysis provides a new strategy for activating fluoroform waste and converting it into valuable fluorochemicals. However, for reactions involving free radicals—particularly those occurring under irradiation—it is essential to regulate radical activity in order to achieve highly selective transformations. To this end, a bifunctional catalyst Cu/ZnO has been designed that not only promotes the radiolysis of water but also modulates the reaction pathways between radicals, thereby enabling highly selective transformations. Abstract
