COMPLEXITY, COMPOSITIONALITY, AND INFORMATION: A CRITICAL–PROPOSITIONAL ANALYSIS OF THE THEORY OF ELMOZNINO ET AL. IN DIALOGUE WITH THE THEORY OF OBJECTIVITY

This article develops a critical–propositional analysis of Eric Elmoznino, Thomas Jiralerspong, Yoshua Bengio, and Guillaume Lajoie’s A Complexity-Based Theory of Compositionality in dialogue with the Theory of Objectivity (TO), formulated by Vidamor Cabannas and Denivaldo Silva. Elmoznino et al. propose a quantitative conception of representational compositionality grounded in algorithmic information theory: an expressive representation is increasingly compositional insofar as it can be redescribed through recombinable discrete parts associated with the representation by a comparatively simple semantic function. This study argues that such a framework does not constitute direct empirical confirmation of the physical or cosmological ontology of TO, but provides a particularly fertile formal dialogue with Absolute Truths AT4, AT5, AT6, and AT7, the Law of Logical Minimum, the Inductive Effects, Memory Units, Intelligence Units, and the cosmogenic theorem. Special attention is given to the distinction between modal necessity and algorithmic simplicity, between abstract information and its physical carrier, and between representational compositionality and physical cosmogony. A provisional concept of cosmogenic compositionality is proposed to characterize the capacity of a limited set of elements and relations to generate progressively richer domains through recursive recombination. The empirical and computational studies reported by Elmoznino et al. are also examined and interpreted as indirect evidence for the viability of compositional architectures rather than as empirical confirmation of TO. The study concludes that the strongest dialogue lies in the possibility of mathematically operationalizing TO’s intuition that high structural and phenomenic diversity may emerge from a minimal set of necessary principles and recursively reusable relations. Abstract

Keywords: Theory of Objectivity; Vidamor Cabannas; Denivaldo Silva; representa- tional compositionality; algorithmic information theory; Kolmogorov complexity; Law of Logical Minimum; modal ontology; information; cosmogenic theorem; Inductive Effects; intelligence; emergent communication.
