Meta-regulators: the body's system control panel. Integrative Architecture of Health and Longevity
In the previous work, we proposed to rethink the body as a set of distributed meta-environments — blood, fascia, interstitium, extracellular matrix, glycocalyx, and others. These environments are the spaces in which cells and organs exist, and their pathology underpins up to 65% of the chronic disease burden. However, the description of the structure does not answer the question of how these environments are managed. In this article, we introduce the concept of ten meta-regulators — integrative control loops that set the fundamental parameters and modes of operation of all meta-environments. Each chronic diagnosis is not an "organ failure", but a frozen failure in one or more meta-regulators. As a key tool for system tuning, the theory of subject balls is proposed, which introduces the metric of object density (PP) - the number of useful and harmful molecular species in the product, taking into account its state. The choice of foods with a high PCP modulates each of the ten meta-regulators, maintaining the metabolic diversity of the body's 18 compartments and pushing back the age-related depletion of the metabolome.
