Smart Home Application using MQTT, Docker, Node-RED

This project presents the development of a Smart Home application based on Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, integrating an ESP32 D1 R32 development board, a DHT11 temperature and humidity sensor, MQTT communication, Docker, and Node-RED. The system continuously measures temperature and humidity and transmits the collected data through the MQTT Mosquitto broker running within a Docker environment. Node-RED provides a visual interface for monitoring the sensor measurements and the status of the heating system in real time. An LED connected to the ESP32 simulates the operation of central heating and is automatically activated when the temperature falls below 25°C. The project demonstrates how lightweight communication protocols, containerization, embedded systems, and graphical IoT platforms can be combined to create a scalable and remotely monitored Smart Home solution.
