Association Between Ultrasound Diaphragmatic Measurements and Mechanical Ventilation in Patients With Guillain-Barré Syndrome

Respiratory failure is a serious complication in Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS). Traditional clinical scales have limitations in accurately predicting the need for invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV), and complementary bedside tools are needed to improve early-risk stratification. The aims of this study were to determine whether diaphragmatic ultrasound parameters are associated with IMV in patients with GBS and to evaluate their association with established prognostic scales.
