Volume A13: Particles as Event Clusters

Abstract The nature of fundamental particles remains one of the deepest unresolved questions in modern physics. While quantum field theory describes particles as excitations of underlying fields, and string theory posits them as vibrational modes, neither framework fully explains the origin of particle properties, identity, or the informational architecture that governs their behavior. This volume presents a comprehensive reformulation of particle ontology within the Informational Constraints Quantum Event Realism (ICQER) framework. We propose that particles are not fundamental entities but emergent, stable clusters of discrete quantum events bound together by networks of informational constraints. Through this lens, we demonstrate how particle properties—including mass, charge, and spin—arise naturally from the geometry and topology of event clusters embedded in the constraint lattice. The formation, stability, and dynamics of event clusters are examined in detail, revealing constraint propagation as the fundamental mechanism underlying binding forces and interactions. Particle identity and indistinguishability are resolved through equivalence classes of cluster configurations, providing an ontological foundation for quantum statistics (Fermi–Dirac and Bose–Einstein). Interactions, creation, and annihilation processes are reinterpreted as dynamical reconfigurations of constraint networks, establishing a direct correspondence with quantum field operators while potentially eliminating divergences through discrete regularization. We further explore the implications for quantum field theory, offering pathways toward a finite, unified description that reconciles particle and field perspectives as scale-dependent manifestations of the same underlying event-constraint architecture. Experimental signatures and testable predictions are identified, including modified scattering amplitudes, vacuum phenomena deviations, and constraint-induced correlations beyond standard quantum entanglement. This volume advances the ICQER–ToE program by grounding particle physics in a coherent, information-theoretic ontology, transforming our understanding of particles from fundamental objects to emergent informational structures woven from the fabric of reality itself.
