MIND A Momentum-Architecture Perspective on the Alcubierre Metric From Energy Density to Momentum Architecture
Since its publication in 1994, the Alcubierre metric has demonstrated that General Relativity does not prohibit faster-than-light effective travel through spacetime geometry. The principal obstacle has never been the geometry — it has been the source. Calculation of the required stress-energy tensor yields negative energy density (T⁰⁰ < 0), demanding exotic matter that has never been realized macroscopically. For three decades, every subsequent investigation has attempted to solve this difficulty by optimizing the same variable: energy density. This paper proposes that this historical emphasis on T⁰⁰ may not be a consequence of Einstein's equations, but of the engineering architectures available throughout the history of physics. Einstein's field equations relate the Einstein tensor to the complete stress-energy tensor — whose ten independent components contain far richer physical information than energy density alone. Among these components lie the momentum-density terms T⁰ⁱ, representing the transport of linear momentum through spacetime. These terms have rarely been considered as the primary engineering variable for constructing spacetime geometries. The concept of Momentum Architecture is introduced: an engineering paradigm that seeks to maximize organized momentum transport rather than stored energy. The framework distinguishes between energy-dominated sources (conventional machines, where T⁰⁰ is the primary engineered contribution) and momentum-dominated sources (Momentonic architectures, where T⁰ⁱ becomes the dominant engineered contribution). A five-stage engineering roadmap is presented, proceeding from controlled momentum generation through dynamic-state cultivation to closed momentum architectures capable of producing momentum-dominated stress-energy distributions. A candidate stress-energy tensor for Momentum Architecture is proposed, with engineered off-diagonal components (T⁰ⁱ) whose magnitude depends explicitly on the cultivated dynamic state through the Dynamic State Principle dE = v dp. The central hypothesis is formulated: if sufficiently organized momentum transport can be engineered, then physically realizable stress-energy tensors may progressively shift their dominant contribution from T⁰⁰ toward T⁰ⁱ — without requiring exotic matter, without modifying General Relativity, and without violating any energy condition. Numerical gravitomagnetic simulation using full Biot-Savart integration over four architectural configurations yields a critical result: an asteroid-class toroidal architecture (16 Psyche, 2.7 × 10¹⁹ kg at 0.33c) produces B_g = 1.98 × 10⁻⁸ rad/s, placing the gap to the functional Alcubierre threshold at only 5.7 orders of magnitude — substantially smaller than previously estimated. The framework is fully falsifiable: if experimentally generated momentum-dominated architectures exhibit no measurable distinction from conventional rotating systems, the proposed direction simply proves ineffective. Either outcome constitutes scientific progress. ABÏON Prime is identified not merely as a propulsion device but as the first candidate laboratory platform for generating and characterizing momentum-dominated stress-energy distributions — the first engineered architecture whose primary design objective is organized momentum transport rather than energy storage.
