Hyperion: A Compact Negative-Triangularity Spherical-Tokamak Helium-3 and Tritium Breeder
Hyperion is a compact negative-triangularity spherical-tokamak breeder sized to a strategic-materials mission - tritium, helium-3, and 14 MeV neutrons - rather than to net electricity. It reaches plasma gain Q=3.076 at 85 MW; negative triangularity suppresses turbulence into a quiet subcritical core; the tritium output is a confirmed per-unit exporter ladder (net TBR 1.42, ~2 kg-T/yr/unit). The centrepost is a consumable cartridge and disruptions are a stated hard requirement. New version (3.0) at the 2026 campaign freeze.
