Modelling and robust control using parameter-varying Persidskii representation: application to aircraft longitudinal motion

This paper introduces a class of nonlinear models, referred to as Parameter-Varying Persidskii (PVP) systems, for the modelling and control of aircraft motion. Unlike LPV (Linear Parameter-Varying) approach, which emphasises local properties, this class does not require the embedding of all nonlinearities, enabling the design of controllers with improved global stability and convergence properties. Based on this framework, the paper develops a robust output control design method and applies it to the longitudinal motion of aircraft. Numerical simulations are conducted to evaluate the results of the proposed approach compared to those of LPV-based and classical gain-scheduling methods.
