Assessing Jargon and Language Proficiency in Informed Consent
This ePoster presents a bibliometric analysis of the 100 most cited research articles to evaluate how the academic community addresses language barriers and complex medical jargon within written informed consent documentation. The study reveals a critical gap in literature, illustrating that current research prioritizes spoken interpreter interventions over the readability of written documents. Recommendations are provided on how the medical community can better address the current documentation and literacy barriers in informed consent.
