Multidisciplinary Investigation of Persistent Auditory Percepts: Structured Technical Differentiation
This paper introduces Structured Technical Differentiation, a methodology for organizing multidisciplinary clinical investigation under conditions of evidential uncertainty. Using persistent auditory percepts as a demanding clinical exemplar, it distinguishes observation, characterization, integration, and attribution, arguing that objective findings should be characterized within the appropriate discipline before explanatory conclusions are reached. The framework extends differential diagnosis rather than replacing it.
