HVisc–MSM skeletal muscle mechanics model for virtual surgery

This paper studies the mechanical properties of skeletal muscle from the perspectives of experiments, modeling and simulation, proposes the HVisc-MSM. The model structure of this study consists of regular hexagonal topological patches and spring modules with recovery capabilities. The effectiveness of the proposed method was verified through simulation results of the soft-body model, longitudinal stretching, and in-plane shearing. Compared with other models, the model proposed in this study is closer to the real mechanical deformation of skeletal muscle. These results demonstrate that the proposed modeling method achieves higher fidelity in representing the mechanical behavior of skeletal muscle.
