Discrimination on the Origin of 30 PeV Gamma-ray Photons

At the end of July and early August 2026, the Large HighAltitude Airshower Observatory (LHAASO) announced the detection of ultrahighenergy gammaray photons up to 30 PeV from the binary system Cygnus X3, together with periodic variability of this highenergy emission. This marks the first identified variable ultrahighenergy gammaray source. The observation exceeds the conventional energy limit of approximately 1 PeV for galactic cosmicray particles and challenges existing astroparticle acceleration theories. The mainstream interpretation attributes the 30 PeV gammaray emission to secondary radiation produced by proton acceleration and meson decay within blackhole jets. Based on the theory of the primacy of light, this paper proposes an alternative physical mechanism: the observed 30 PeV gammaray photons are primary highenergy photons generated by spontaneous energy elevation within the dense photonsoup environment inside the black hole, which escape through the accretion disk. Physical inconsistencies within the protonacceleration scenario are analysed and compared with the selfconsistent photonsoup mechanism, providing an alternative approach for understanding the origin of extremeenergy astrophysical radiation.
