Human-Centered AI

The exhortation to “put patients at the center of all we do” can seem cliché. The imperative to do so is often lost in the uniquely complex web of stakeholders intrinsic to health care. The term “human-centered AI” is generally defined as an approach to artificial intelligence (AI) that prioritizes human needs, values, and well-being. Faced with the juggernaut-like momentum of disruptive innovation in the realm of AI, how will we as physicians hold true to the goal of prioritizing above all the needs of those we serve? Abstract
