Persistent, Conserved Interacting Relationships: An Integrative Framework for Physical Reality

Abstract This paper proposes an interpretive framework for understanding how enduring physical reality continually arises and persists. It examines how the established principles of modern physics may be understood collectively as expressions of a continuing physical process. The discussion begins by viewing the observable universe as a process rather than as a collection of isolated objects. Familiar examples are then used to illustrate complementary aspects of this interpretation. A rib-eye steak demonstrates continual physical transformation through biological, chemical, and astronomical processes. Weight is examined as a measurable quantity that exists only while an object participates in a gravitational interaction. The Golden Gate Bridge serves as the central example of enduring physical structure, illustrating how stability, visibility, and the ability to support human life all arise through well-established physical interactions operating within the same physical reality. These examples suggest that observable structures, measurable quantities, and perceptual experience are unified by a common underlying principle. Within the interpretive framework proposed here, conservation preserves the continuity of interacting physical relationships through transformation, persistence allows organized structures to endure despite continual internal change, and invariance provides the means by which those enduring structures are identified across changing conditions. Accordingly, this paper proposes the following interpretive principle: Persistent, conserved interacting relationships continually give rise to, transform, reorganize, and sustain the observable physical structures of the universe. This proposition is offered not as a replacement for established scientific theory, but as a conceptual framework that unifies continual transformation and enduring physical stability within a single, coherent interpretation of the observable universe.
