Autonomous service robot for fast restock and intelligent straightening of food products in convenience stores
A significant reduction in the workforce available for the operation of the retail industry has heightened the need for autonomous robots, a reason why government agencies and a company in Japan have organized and sponsored the Future Convenience Store Challenge (FCSC). In this paper, we propose an autonomous robot capable of fast restocking of food products, as well as the manipulation of food products for restocking and disposal of shelves in convenience stores. Our robot participated in the FCSC 2025, obtaining the 1st Place in the Stock task, and the 2nd Place in the Stock and Disposal task. We report the resulting score in each task, detailing the key to solving the Stock task in 158 seconds out of the 600 seconds available, as well as the usage of foundation models for 6D-pose estimation in the Stock and Disposal task.
