The learning environment of a school includes school facilities that involve laboratories for practical purposes, libraries, learning tools, sporting gadgets and other facilities that can improve students’ learning and alertness. These facilities are intended to improve the learning culture of students. The school climate includes the setting of the classroom and its size as well as the schools. Some aspects of the learning environment that affect the academic performance of students include the physical environment, learning materials and learning interactions. It is recommended that a conducive environment should be provided to students in both urban and rural areas to enable them to perform at optimum levels

Abstract

In general, in the whole world, particularly in Nigeria, education is the cornerstone for development. It forms the basis for literacy, skill acquisition, technological advancement and the ability to harness human and material resources to achieve societal goals. Learning is to foster a skill that will make individuals become capable, independent, self-regulated and efficient learners in the classroom. The learning environment of a school is the thread that connects the multitude of school activities. This thread is almost invisible in many respects, yet everyone experiences its influence.
