The Wris Method for Calculating Viscous Sphere Drift via the Bozdar Formulations

This paper introduces an independent analytical fluid dynamics framework, designated as the Wris Method, to evaluate the lateral trajectory of a spinning, rigid sphere settling through a viscous fluid. By establishing a direct ratio between terminal vertical settling and horizontal lift forces, we derive a clean, dimensionless parameter: the Spin-Drift Ratio (k). This method eliminates explicit reliance on gravitational acceleration and particle density within the lateral displacement vectors, offering an elegant mathematical shortcut for predicting orthogonal particle migration in low-Reynolds-number regimes.
