photocatalytic chemistry
Visible-light organophotocatalysis serves as a sustainable synthetic tool to construct molecular skeletons under mild conditions. Metal-free organic photocatalysts feature low cost, good biocompatibility and adjustable redox properties, avoiding expensive transition-metal catalysts. Nevertheless, narrow substrate adaptability and insufficient stereocontrol remain major challenges. This project aims to develop new visible-light-driven radical transformations mediated by organic photocatalysts. Commercially available photocatalysts will be screened, and key parameters including solvent, catalyst loading and additives will be optimized. Target reactions focus on radical cyclization and selective C–C bond formation. After establishing optimal conditions, the substrate scope and functional group compatibility will be examined. Control experiments together with spectroscopic studies will be conducted to reveal the catalytic mechanism. Products will be characterized by NMR and HRMS, and stereoselectivity will be analysed via chiral HPLC. This work expects to provide practical, environmentally friendly synthetic protocols for complex organic molecules.
