The mechanism of Duodenum Mucosal Resurfacing

This project investigates how Duodenum Mucosal Resurfacing (DMR) improves metabolism. Our central hypothesis is that DMR reshapes the gut microbiota and alters bile acid profiles, which in turn activate a vagus nerve–mediated brain–gut axis to regulate blood glucose levels. This study will provide mechanistic insights into DMR as a potential therapy for metabolic diseases.
