Limits and Relationships Between <scp>CSI</scp> and <scp>CSR</scp>
ABSTRACT Academics and practitioners have paid limited attention to the relationship between Corporate Social Innovation (CSI) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The literature on the boundaries between these two concepts remains fragmented, and existing studies tend to address the phenomenon through isolated case studies and specific variables, rather than adopting a holistic perspective. Furthermore, while interest in integrating these practices into core business operations has grown, companies face challenges in implementing them, as it is unclear which approach best addresses social issues alongside economic benefits. To address this research gap, a PRISMA‐based systematic literature review was conducted to analyze both the conceptual boundaries and the relationship between these concepts in the context of companies' strategic social value creation. Specifically, the literature identifies that conceptual boundaries are shaped by the different foundations, dynamics, and outcomes of CSI and CSR. On the other hand, the relationship between CSI and CSR is characterized by complementarity, mutual influence, and evolution over time. Finally, the study highlights opportunities for future research.
