DEVELOPING THE COMPETITIVENESS OF SMARTGRID SPECIALISTS THROUGH COMPUTER GRAPHICS AND CAD TECHNOLOGIES: A PEDAGOGICAL CASE STYDE ON THE DESIGN OF A BACKUP POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM

Abstract This article examines the effectiveness of using computer graphics and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) technologies, such as EasyEDA and Fusion 360, in the training of graduates specialising in 'Smart Technologies in Energy'. It also considers the role of 2D and 3D modelling in developing engineering thinking and enhancing graduates' competitiveness in the labour market. Particular attention is paid to an eight-step pedagogical case study involving the design of a customised backup power supply system for a Wi-Fi router and an optical converter in the context of wartime blackouts. The interdisciplinary process is explained in detail, from power calculations and circuit design using EasyEDA, to 3D modelling of the enclosure and preparation for 3D printing, and finally to experimental verification. Methodological recommendations are proposed for incorporating cloud-based CAD platforms into the educational process. The research results suggest that students are better prepared to work with digital twins and smart grids as a result of this integration.
