Listeriosis in an adult horse
Summary Infections by the bacteria Listeria monocytogenes in adult horses are rare. Due to this rarity, it is quite challenging for equine practitioners to diagnose this disease, even when the patients are expressing neurological signs. Exploring data from other species, evaluating clinical signs, biochemistry parameters and using information from post mortem findings can help practitioners to better manage cases where infections with Listeria monocytogenes are possible.
