Poster: Fourier Neural Operators for Rayleigh–Bénard Convection (Best Poster Award)

At ICCS 2026, we presented our poster, 'Fourier Neural Operators for Rayleigh–Bénard Convection', which introduces an improved Fourier Neural Operator (FNO) for modelling two-dimensional turbulent Rayleigh–Bénard convection. By predicting time increments rather than full solution fields, our approach achieves higher accuracy than a standard FNO baseline while maintaining computational efficiency. We are honoured that the work was recognised with the Best Poster Award.

Abstract

At ICCS 2026, we presented our poster, 'Fourier Neural Operators for Rayleigh–Bénard Convection', which introduces an improved Fourier Neural Operator (FNO) for modelling two-dimensional turbulent Rayleigh–Bénard convection. By predicting time increments rather than full solution fields, our approach achieves higher accuracy than a standard FNO baseline while maintaining computational efficiency. We are honoured that the work was recognised with the Best Poster Award.
