Perfect Bubble Space Theory I: Foundations of Pointwise Inflation, Compatible Fusion, and Algebraic Return

Perfect bubble theory is a point-generated birational geometry. Starting from a marked local extension\[A_{\mathfrak m}\subseteq L\subseteq K,\]one chooses a global spread \(A\subseteq B\subseteq K\) such that \(B_{\mathfrak m}=L\). Compatible spreads are fused inside the fixed function field and subsequently contracted by algebraic return. Compatibility is equivalent to the cross-containment of every body ring in every kernel algebra, and the admissible ambient rings form the explicit interval\[\operatorname{Amb}(\mathcal B)=[G(\mathcal B),M(\mathcal B)].\]A perfect bubble space is the full presentation \((\mathcal B,C,\Sigma,\mathcal R)\) for which return recovers the prescribed base ring. We establish complete and divisorial perfectification theorems, construct the return–regularity Galois connection and the canonical Boolean return cube, and introduce fusion-face and return-obstruction cohomology. For finite-type overrings of Noetherian normal domains, the canonical height-one pole set gives a finite perfect return test. Its subsets determine a Boolean family of intermediate return rings, while an ordering of its divisors produces a perfection spectral sequence. These constructions commute with localization. Principal localization bodies recover ordinary algebraic Čech complexes. More generally, when a bubble diagram admits a normalized Čech-nerve realization and the nonempty faces are acyclic, bubble cohomology agrees with the corresponding Grothendieck or étale cohomology. The theory is point-first rather than open-first or cover-morphism-first: marked local extensions are primitive, whereas global bodies arise through spreading, fusion, and return. It therefore provides an intermediate formalism that retains more marked birational data than its Zariski shadow while requiring less structure than full Grothendieck descent, particularly for nonflat birational extensions. Abstract

Keywords **perfect bubble space; point-generated birational geometry; marked local extension; global spreading; compatible fusion; algebraic return; birational overring; pole divisor; return obstruction; bubble cohomology; nonflat birational extension; Grothendieck saturation**
