Malignant Ossifying Fibromyxoid PHF1::TFE3-Fused Tumor of Soft Tissue of the Right Hip in a 71-Year-Old Female with 18 Month Follow-Up: A Case Report and Comprehensive Review of the Literature

Malignant ossifying fibromyxoid PHF1::TFE3-fused tumor of the soft tissues surrounding the right hip in a 71-year-old female is a very rare finding. This patient's lesion was present for 20 years and gradually grew until it was 20 cm by 16 cm which caused her to have difficulty with sitting thus seeking medical consultation. The lesion was resected en masse and the diagnosis was confirmed at an expert pathology center. Additional resection to obtain wider margins was accomplished. Imaging and staging work-up was accomplished. The patient has been followed for a year and a half with no signs of recurrence or metastatic disease for her stage IIIB (pT4, cN0, cM0). A comprehensive review of the literature was undertaken to create a helpful guide.
