Drawing on Harvard Business School Professor Michael Tushman's disruption theory and real‐world case studies from The Win‐Win Workplace , my article argues that companies must innovate around their people—transforming them from cogs in a wheel to catalysts for growth—or risk becoming obsolete. By combining fresh insights, actionable frameworks, and compelling stories from legacy and modern workplaces, this piece offers practical guidance for leaders navigating the future of work. The article includes five steps for avoiding the human capital curve of obsolescence: 1. Build Systems for Continuous Learning 2. Foster Inclusive Cultures. 3. Unleash Individual and Team Agency 4. Empower Middle Managers 5. Invest in the Whole Employee.
