Glutathione Peroxidase Drives Active Ferric Soybean Lipoxygenase-1 into its Inactive Ferrous State: Stopped-Flow Kinetic Results - Implications for Ferroptosis
This project contains a research manuscript reporting stopped-flow kinetic experiments performed in 1984 on the ferric and ferrous states of soybean lipoxygenase-1. The results demonstrate that glutathione peroxidase and glutathione suppress continued lipoxygenase turnover by removing lipid hydroperoxide required for reactivation of inactive ferrous enzyme. The findings are discussed in relation to GPX4 and ferroptosis.
