Discriminator Register: Method and worked example (M.E.M. Diagnostisk)
A discriminator register identifies observations that can, in principle, shift the weight between at least two competing explanatory classes. This document presents the method as part of the M.E.M. Diagnostisk layer — the falsification tools of M.E.M. theory — and includes a worked example from a wind farm energy-systems track showing how an investigation changed character from pattern-comparison to discrimination. The core rule, that a negative outcome is a result rather than a methodological defeat, is illustrated in both directions: a genuine discriminator found (two observable conditions under which yaw correction becomes justified), and the negative case (no discriminator between two classes, moved to methodological note). The method is domain-general and currently in active use across several research tracks.
