1‐1‐3‐Type Piezoelectric Composite Materials: Design, Fabrication, and Thickness Vibration Characteristics Analysis
ABSTRACT Monolithic piezoelectric ceramics suffer from severe modal crosstalk and parasitic vibration interference, while conventional 1–3 piezoelectric composites are constrained by cumbersome fabrication procedures and limited structural flexibility. This work proposes a novel 1‐1‐3‐type piezoelectric composite fabricated via stereolithography 3D printing and precision assembly. The composite under consideration is composed of polarized PZT piezoelectric pillars, the silicone rubber bonding component, and the 3D‐printed resin framework. A theoretical analysis and COMSOL simulation are conducted to investigate its vibration and resonant characteristics. Experimental results demonstrate that the composite achieves pure thickness‐mode resonance at 466.5 kHz, effectively eliminating modal crosstalk. Compared with monolithic ceramic, including an effective electromechanical coupling coefficient of 0.69, and dielectric loss decreases by 31.05%. The average resonant frequency deviation between simulation and experiment is only 4.08%, confirming high fabrication repeatability. This work provides a scalable fabrication strategy for high‐performance piezoelectric composites in ultrasonic sensing applications.
