Electrospinning <scp>HPAN</scp> @ <scp>CuS</scp> Nanofibers for Multiple Functional Applications

ABSTRACT Electrospun nanofiber membranes with large specific surface area, high porosity, interconnected architecture, and facile functionalization offer immense potential for wastewater treatment. Herein, an HPAN@CuS fiber membrane was prepared by electrospinning technology and in situ sulfidation technology. The effects of different reaction precursors and growth processes on the morphology of the HPAN@CuS nanofiber membranes were investigated. The photocatalytic and water evaporation performance of the HPAN@CuS fiber membrane was also studied. Under visible light irradiation, the prepared HPAN@CuS composite nanofiber membrane showed a degradation efficiency of 97.30% for MB within 35 min. Under natural sunlight conditions, the degradation efficiency of MB reached 95.09% within 35 min, demonstrating excellent photocatalytic performance. Moreover, the HPAN@CuS membrane achieved a water evaporation rate of 1.136 kg m −2 h −1 for pure water and 1.145 kg m −2 h −1 for seawater under one sun when used for solar‐driven water evaporation. Therefore, the prepared HPAN@CuS fiber membrane possesses excellent photocatalytic performance and solar water evaporation capability, indicating its broad application prospects in water pollution treatment.

The photocatalytic and water evaporation performance of the HPAN@CuS fiber membrane was also studied. Under visible light irradiation, the prepared HPAN@CuS composite nanofiber membrane showed a degradation efficiency of 97.30% for MB within 35 min.
