Connecting Dynamic Digital Product Passports with Mixed Reality in DigInTraCE

This technical article presents the development and implementation of the DigInTraCE Dynamic Digital Product Passport (DPP) and Mixed Reality (MR) Enabler as key components of the project's Decentralized Traceability Platform. It describes how product information can evolve dynamically across circular value chains by integrating data from sensing and sorting systems, Smart Tags, production processes, mobile applications, environmental assessments and blockchain-based traceability services. The article explains the transition from static product records to dynamic, role-based Digital Product Passports that support transparency, traceability and circularity. It also presents how Mixed Reality and Augmented Reality technologies transform structured product data into accessible and interactive information, including product visualisation, sustainability indicators, traceability views and Right-to-Repair guidance. The presented solutions demonstrate how DigInTraCE bridges digital innovation and industrial application, providing practical tools that support circular economy implementation across different manufacturing sectors.
