Cobalt-based porphyrinoids as molecular catalysts for homogeneous CO 2 photoreduction

This review is an updated summary of the homogeneous photocatalytic CO 2 reduction catalyzed by cobalt-based porphyrinoid complexes, including cobalt porphyrins, phthalocyanines, and corroles. The catalytic activity and structure-activity relationship from the mechanistic investigations are discussed, with conclusions on the progress and limitations in this family of molecular catalysts for CO 2 photoreduction.
