Hallermann–Streiff syndrome in a 2-year-old male presenting with characteristic craniofacial and dental anomalies: a rare case report
Introduction and importance: Hallermann–Streiff syndrome (HSS) is an uncommon congenital condition of indeterminate genetic origin, marked by unique characteristics that influence craniofacial and systemic development. It is important to diagnose it early and manage it with a team of specialists. Presentation of the case: The patient presented with distinct craniofacial, dental, ocular, and skeletal abnormalities. The diagnosis was verified by clinical signs and radiological findings, and multidisciplinary management was employed as the primary treatment. Clinical discussion: This syndrome is a sporadic, multisystem condition identified clinically and radiologically. Management focuses on functional, interdisciplinary treatment, addressing ophthalmic, dental, skeletal, and respiratory issues to achieve stable, long-term results. Conclusion: Early identification of HSS requires a thorough clinical and radiological assessment. A full interdisciplinary approach may greatly improve functional outcomes and overall quality of life, even in extreme or challenging circumstances.
