Psychological Distance as a Mediator Between Resource Allocation, Perceived Value and Patients’ Psychological Responses in AI-Embedded Integrated Hospital Systems

In 2024, driven by extreme weather and global climate change, the co-circulation of COVID-19 and influenza triggered a surge in hospital visits among adults and paediatric patients worldwide. This study primarily aimed to explore hospitals’ medical service management models and evaluate patient satisfaction from a consumer perspective. A revised theoretical research model was established in this study, with four directional hypotheses proposed. Valid questionnaire samples were collected from 301 respondents. Specifically, this study hypothesised that resource allocation positively affects psychological response, perceived value positively affects psychological response, psychological distance significantly influences psychological response and psychological response positively correlates with consumer satisfaction. The empirical results verified significant positive associations for three of the four hypotheses, while no statistically significant relationship was confirmed for the remaining hypothesis.
